We thank Robin for her unselfish giving to others in Christ's love.

The UMW Executive Board meets monthly the first Tuesday at 9:30 in the church conference room (except for July).  General Meetings are open to all women of the church and are the first Tuesdays in February, May, October, and December.  Programs begin at 11:00 in Hale Chapel with a light lunch served in the Social Hall at 12:00 noon.  The May meeting will be the annual Women's Celebration in the Christian Life Center on Tuesday, May 6th.  October will support the World Thank Offering and is to be held at Goshen United Methodist Church.  December 2nd will be "Celebrating the Birth of Christ" sponsored by Ruth Wilson Circle.

The United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church invite all women to join us.  Several UMW circles meet at different times.  Choose one that fits your schedule!

Friendship-Hannah Circle

The Friendship-Hannah Circle is one of varying age groups, but is composed of women who believe in service to the church and others.  Circle projects during the year include:  the Doris M. Gorrell Memorial Children's Fund in which monies are forwarded to the Christian Children's Fund to support a disadvantaged child; the annual churchwide Thanksgiving Dinner; preparation of wreaths and swags for decorating the outside of the church during December.  The Friendship-Hannah circle has many special friends, elderly, shut-ins, and disabled persons who are remembered throughout the year in special ways.  This circle meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.  Kim Black is the 2008 Circle Leader.

Ruth Wilson Circle

Members of the Ruth Wilson Circle volunteer regularly at the Angel's Attic Resale Shop and provide food for volunteers once per month.  This circle meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 1:30 pm. in the church social hall.  Linda Burgess and Norma Frank are the 2008 Circle Leaders.

Wesleyan Circle

This is a smaller circle of lively, inclusive, and dedicated Christian women committed to working in missions.  Locally, they participate in the Santa Project and make layettes for the Murray-Calloway County Hospital and for Needline.  They participate globally through study, support, gifts to, and prayers for missions.  Please join them on the 3rd Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in the church conference room.  Susan Johnson and Lillian Robertson are the 2008 Circle Leaders.

Tucker-Frost Circle

This fabulous group of mature ladies meets in the mornings to avoid driving in the evenings.  They take turns meeting at members' homes on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m.  These generous ladies have offered financial support to the Family Resource Center, exchange students, Women Aware, and UMCOR.  All women are invited to join them!  Carol Finn is the 2008 Circle Leader.
