First United Methodist Church invites YOU to join us each Sunday morning from 9:50 – 10:30 for Sunday School. A wide variety of classes are offered for all ages.
Children’s Classes | Youth Classes | College Classes | Adult Classes

Children’s Classes
Sunday School calsses are available for children ages 3 years through 5th grade. Classes are designed with weekly, age-appropriate lessons to learn God’s word through stories, games, activities, and projects that help children make discipleship connections in their daily lives. The Preschool class is located on the main floor of the Education Building. All other Children’s classes are located on the lower level of the Education Building. Youth Classes
Sunday School classes are offered for kids in 6th – 12 grade on the third floor of the Education Building. The Jr. High class consists of 7th and 8th graders, while the senior high class is comprised of 9th – 12th graders. Click here for more information on our Youth Program.
College
The college age group meets monthly in the Christian Life Center for a luncheon after services at 12:00 pm. Contact the church office for information on this months meeting.
Adult classes
First United Methodist church is proud to offer a wide variety of adult Sunday School classes for people of all ages. Listed below are the adult Sunday School classes with a brief description:
CROSSROADS. This lively class is for couples and singles in their 20′s to 30′s. Lively discussion and Bible-based lessons are taught by Joe Ben and Monica Bogle. This class meets in the Christian Life Center Room C202.

SHEPHERDS. This class is made up of singles and married couples in their late 20′s to 40′s who meet in room C206 of the Christian Life Center. Taught by Harry Fannin, the lessons cover contemporary materials and books written by Christian authors. Members of the class also participate in various mission and fellowship activities.
CONTEMPORARY ADULT. The members of this class are an eclectic group ranging in age from their 30′s to 50′s. A wide variety of lesson topics, including timely issues, Bible-based study, and selected books by Christian authors, provide the lessons which are punctuated with energetic and thought-provoking discussion. Class meets in room C204 of the Christian Life Center and welcomes both singles and couples.
OUTREACH. This class is a middle adulthood (40′s to 60′s), using both contemporary and Bible materials in a discussion setting. Members seek to support each other in their journeys to understand their lives and to develop a loving relationship with God. All are welcome. The class meets in the lower level Conference Room of the Christian Life Center, Room C103.
TOGETHERNESS. This class is made up of a diverse and friendly group representing many occupations and backgrounds actively participating in open intellectual discussion using the International Sunday School Lesson as the launching pad. Members range in age from 50′s to 70′s and welcome new members of all ages into fellowship and discussions. This class meets in the Education Building, Room E208.
CHRISTIAN ADULT. This class consists of 40 members ranging between the ages of 60 to 80 years of age. Written text is from the New International Lesson series. Class members form close relationships and have three socials per year. Visitors are always welcome. This class meets on the second floor of the Christian Life Center, Room C201.

GLEANERS/FRIENDSHIP. Ranging in age from 30′s to 90′s, this class uses various teachers and studies the Adult Bible Study each Sunday. Lesson is by lecture and involvement of anyone wanting to participate in discussion. They welcome anyone that is looking to learn the Bible and meet in Hale Chapel in the Education Building.
