The Senior Adult Fellowship “Primetimers”
This is a group of seniors 55+ who meet for fellowship meals and day-trips each month. They have visited places such as the Kentucky Amish Settlement, the Tea Pot Museum, Trenton, Tennessee, and the Upper Room Chapel, Nashville, Tennessee. Occasionally the group will make an overnight trip, where they have visited The Shaker Village, Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois. Our group of senior adults enjoy an especially warm and caring fellowship as a result of this ministry. Trips and luncheons are announced in the weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter, and are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month. Participants can call the church office to make reservations.
Walk By Faith
You won’t want to miss the fun and excitement every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9:00 as a lively group of senior adults gathers in the CLC gym for walking. The exercise begins with a warm up, 20 minutes of walking, and a cool down. Come walk with us (or just drink coffee if you prefer!).
Caring Friends Ministry Team
Caring Friends Ministry Team is a group of special church members who dedicate their time to visiting the senior members of our church. We spend time in visitation talking, enjoying fellowship and prayers. We also remember them on birthdays, holidays or special occations in their lives. In early December, we participate in Christmas caroling at their residences.
A member from the Caring Friends team visits at least once a month in their home (if homebound), Glendale Place, Wesley House of Murray, Hickory Woods Retirement Center, and at Spring Creek Nursing Home. The purpose we are seeking to fulfill is to be true to Christ’s call to care for those in special needs circumstances.
